INDIA INC. STRUGGLES TO FILL ROLES TO COUNTER RISING CYBER ATTACKS

The Coronavirus pandemic has led to an inevitable surge in the use of digital technologies due to the social distancing norms and nationwide lockdowns. This shift has made organizations vulnerable to all sorts of cyber-attacks. The sudden rise in these threats has made it difficult for Indian businesses to find cyber security talent.

Incidentally, India has the largest number of Internet users in the world, downloading millions of apps each year. However, 80% of these apps are not secure from a security standpoint. A major challenge for Digital India is the cyber security danger emanating from China.

According to Strike Source, approximately 20 percent of the world's global population are, "either being directly or potentially set up by the Chinese government to collect all kinds of private data".

Currently, there is a demand for more than 1 lakh cyber security professionals in the Indian Markets. Most organizations are relying on skill development and up-skilling of existing employees to bridge this gap.

To tackle next-generation cyber threats, highly qualified personnel are needed to manage, and conduct 24x7 threat hunting, detection, and response.
